Red and Green and Purple and Yellow sound like a nightmare from a healer's standpoint.

Red and Green brings about some kind of Schrodinger's Cat paradox where you have to be stacked up AND spread out at once.
I assume that's simply a heroic gearcheck.

Yellow and Purple is a crapload of damage and paced, sporadic heals. While you should be stacked up for Yellow, doing so has the possibility of one too many heals going through and blowing everyone up with purple's effect.

Of them, Black and Blue sounds like the easiest.

for the achievement you need:
black & yellow - spawns Forgotten One adds & causes aoe damage
black & blue - spawns Forgotten One adds & does mana drain and spawns Mana Void
red & green - damage based on distance from boss & causes you to damage others nearby from
purple & yellow - detonate after 5 heals from Deep Corruption & causes aoe damage

Just confirmed that you can get two color combinations at the same time. Getting Black, Yellow and Blue blobs gave us both Black/Yellow and Black/Blue for the achievement.

The Taste the Rainbow! achievement had be completed incrementally across multiple attempts. It is not necessary to get all the color combinations in a single attempt. In fact, many raids may find it easiest to just wait/focus on using necessary survival cooldowns to deal with a particular color combination in a kill one week, and then focus on another combination the following week, until all the requirements for the achievement have been met. Conversely, you can do more than one set of color combinations in a single kill, or even a single wave of adds (e.g., allowing the boss to get black/yellow/blue at the same time would get you the first two on the list below at once).

The impact of the pairings are as follows, generally ranked from easiest to most difficult:
Dark Globule (Black) + Glowing Globule (Yellow) - Will result in two waves of Forgotten One adds while healing through ongoing AoE from . This is actually the easiest of the combinations.
Dark Globule (Black) + Cobalt Globule (Blue) - Will result in a wave of Forgotten One adds, along with a Mana Void. Focus down the Mana Void when it spawns to get mana back for the raid, then finish the adds. As long as dps switches quickly to kill the Mana Void, this combination too is rather easy.
Crimson Globule (Red) + Acidic Globule (Green) - Will result on the raid getting that requires it to collapse, while simultaneously causing room wide AoE from that splashes to nearby players. Generally, the raid will need to spread out at least 5 yards from each other to minimize splashes from , but positioned in a full circle around the boss to minimize the distance from the boss (and reduce the damage). Plan to use personal survival and raid cooldowns to survive. Tank 4pc set bonuses may be especially helpful here.
Shadowed Globule (Purple) + Glowing Globule (Yellow) - Will result in ongoing AoE from , while simultaneously dealing with the fact that the raid is afflicted by Deep Corruption, causing multiple heals to result in damage at 5 stacks. Spread out to minimize Deep Corruption damage (although that will reduce AoE healing effectiveness too), and try to minimize heals until the debuff wears off for a particular player. Damage reduction cooldowns may be a helpful way to reduce damage without causing corruption stacks.

Notably, the last two options may be best to do by getting the boss down under 5%, waiting for the appropriate combination, and then killing the boss as soon as he absorbs those colors, ending the fight before you have to deal with a sustained duration of the unfavorable color combination.

It is important to note that to trigger credit for Taste the Rainbow!, the boss must absorb the slimes to get the appropriate color buffs; just killing him once the globules have spawned is not sufficient.

The easiest way to do the Red + Green and Purple + Yellow combinations is to take the boss to about 10%, let his debuffs tick off and wait for the right combination to spawn.
If any combinations spawn that aren't part of the achievement / are already obtained, just wait for another round of adds.
With the current level of gear, this likely won't be much of a problem for tanks or healers.

now this achievement is very easy to do in one run. You can stand all the 3 oozes if your healers have lvl 90 gear, so if there is a Blue - Black - Yellow or a Black - Yellow - Purple coming, just let all of them reach the boss and get 2 combinations at once (confirmed). Plus, you can just damage yorsaj's to 20% and wait for him to do every combination you need. Just be aware of his berserker timer, cus it still causes wipes.

If you are doing this achievement now, be advised that the achievement progress counter seems to be bugged - I spend ten minutes letting every globule go through and the tracker just would not update for the combinations I got. However, when I killed the boss, I got the achievement anyway. Conclusion: you have to count the combinations yourself, since the tracker is apparently buggy right now.

If you wait for all the color combinations within one attempt and then die to his enrage because you were missing one, and then kill him after getting the missing one in a subsequent attempt, it will ONLY give you credit for the combinations you experienced on the fight when you actually downed him. I learned this the hard way.

So if you are trying to solo this within one week, you need ALL FOUR combinations within one attempt. You can spread the combinations across multiple weeks though, if need be.

You can complete multiple criterias with one combination if you are lucky (e.g. I completed "black and yellow" and "blue and black" letting him absorb black, yellow and blue at the same time.

For those who aren't already familiar with this fight when checking on this achievement:

- Yor'sahj periodically summons blood oozes to assist him, IIRC it's after 75 seconds in
- three (four on heroic) oozes appear at the edge of the area and creep towards him
- he absorbs them, then for 60 seconds, bad things happen based on the color of each ooze absorbed
- then he does it again
- only one can be killed each time, the other 2(3) will become immune, so normally you pick the most dangerous one to destroy -- for this achievement, you let him absorb these four specific color pairings

At 100, classes who can solo raids with ease can just stand there and wait while he summons and absorbs oozes for a while. Track the achievement so you can mentally check off which pairs have appeared, and when you've seen all four, finish him off.

At 110, you're gonna have to hit him once and stop, since it's so easy to nuke him in less than a minute even on 25H.

just some tips:
you have to track the combinations done yourself, it won't be completed until you kill the boss
be sure to kill him when he enrages so you save your progress, if you die you'll have to start from the beginning
this achivement is not account wide, which means you cant do some combinations on one character and some on the other (i tried)

if you kill him while not completing all the combinations you can do the rest on the next id reset

The combinations don't have to exclusive. If you're looking to get Red & Green, there may be another color in the mix. Took me some time to figure that out...

If you are attempting to solo this, it is IMPOSSIBLE to complete in a single sitting before he hits his enrage timer. The color combinations needed aren't "rare" but they are relatively uncommon (ESPECIALLY Yellow/Black, Purple/Yellow). Heed the advice - just gather one or two of the combos then take him down - do it over multiple attempts. It WILL NOT COUNT if you die during the attempt.

Yeah I just tested it. The tracker is bugged. It doesnt show which one you finish until you kill the boss. you have to track it yourself

So you need
Black + Yellow
Red + Green
Black and blue
Purple and yellow

I just soloed it in 25 m heroic. The boss summoned 4 in 25H, but you could only kill one. So for the whole time, the boss would have 3 colors on it. I got the red and green in the first summon. And then when the boss summoned black, yellow, blue and purple. I didn't kill any of them and see what would happen. When all 4 reached the boss, the boss gained black and blue & purple and yellow and also Black and Yellow, too! When i killed the boss, i still got the achievement. So it doesn't have to be EXACTLY 2 colors combinations. It can be like red and green and yellow on the boss but you will still get the Red + Green achievement. You just need AT LEAST 2 required colors on the boss.

This one was tricky as we 3 reached the berserker time of the boss and wiped like 4 times before we understood what to do. The thing is, sometimes you can't kill the globules right after they spawn because they become IMMUNE to everything. The only course of action for this was to just wait for the boss and get all 4 globules on him of every colour (black, red, green, yellow, blue, purple) after a few waves (in which the purple appeared like at the 5th wave of globules along with a yellow one on the same wave), we killed the boss and we 3 got the achievement after we counted the colours we already had just to be safe. You don't need to kill any of the globules unless you can't take the burden of the damage he can do when he gets the 4 buffs at the same time (specially after the Mana Void).

The only trick is to at least have any of those colour combinations mentioned at the achievement. If you are lucky like us of getting black+yellow+blue on the same wave (like it happened to us) it does count as having black+blue and black+yellow. That speeds up the process a little bit. Good luck!

I soloed this today and it was my first time ever trying for it. Very easy, but requires a lot of patients. 694 arcane mage on normal diff. Have the Cold Snap talent and Glyph of regenerative ice.

When the fight started, I blasted him with 4 arcane blasts. dropped him just under 50%. then I stopped attack. I waited for him to do his summons and checked off the combos I needed. as they came. As other comments tells us, the game does not keep track of progress, and you can get double combos with the three slimes he summons, for instance black, yellow, blue will give you the black and blue plus the black and yellow. I used arcane explosion to kill the adds. once my health was low, I would pop Ice block to regain some health and continued on. if it got low again i used cold snap and then ice block again. I used arcane explosion to kill the adds he spawned, which also helped towards the end game as it helped to lower the bosses health a little bit each time. But keep an eye on his health as you don't want to kill him, then you get to come back next week and do it all again.

The timing in this fight is great, he will do one last summons before the zerg timer hits. so you can wait and see what he is going to summon and if it is the last combos you needs, if it is, run up to him, that way when he does absorb, you can pop him with both supernovas and get the achiev. Or if he doesn't, pop invisibility and start all over.

My first attempt I was missing Purple and yellow. I got it on the second attempt. Enjoy.

Just two-manned this with a lvl 100 hunter and lvl 100 druid. We didn't kill ANY blobs, let all 3 sets come out and he absorbed them, then killed him, and bam we got the ach. Easy!

Easily soloed by all classes in WoD item lvl 600.
10 man Normal.
3rd boss in Dragon Soul assuming you go Right in Wyrmrest Temple after completing the left side boss.

Start by killing the adds around Yor'shalj. They mean nothing.
Lightly engage boss.
Then wait.

Eventually 3 blobs will come out with different colours. The boss will absorb these blobs.
You need 4 combinations of 2 different colours.

Take note of which combination of colours you still need as opposed to those that come out.

Before even realizing this Achieve existed, I had already completed 2 combinations prior to attempting here on previous runs.

The first 3 combination of coloured blobs were no good to me. Boss absorbs these blobs.

A few adds popped up. Burn. Wait.

Then the boss called in another 3 blobs. Different colours so different combinations. Good. 2 of the 3 colours (black and yellow) brought me down to 1 more. Again the boss absorbs these blobs.

More adds. Burn. Wait.

The next set of blobs useless.

More adds. Burn. Wait.

The boss again calls in another 3 blobs. This time 2 of the 3 colours fits my needed combination.

I waited until the boss absorbed the 3 blobs.

Then burn the boss = Achieve.

He summoned 4 blobs at a time in 10 man HC mode. None of them counted when he absorbed them. So i'm a bit confused now.

Easiest Solo Strat:
Pull Boss, AFK for ~3 blob summons. Kill boss. He had all 4 colors on him when I killed him.

there are 6 Globule with the different colours, Just Track this achievement and then watch it.I saw 4 Globule with black,yellow,purple,red then killed boss but didn't get achiev.because I didn't watch my achievement.

Seems easy to solo. Just work out what colors you don't want him to absorb in advance and start the fight. For me this was Red, Green and Blue.
Each time the blobs are summoned just kill one of the colors you don't want him to absorb, he will of course end up absorbing things you don't want him to but that's ok. Make it a different one each time. After 5 rounds of this summoning just dps him down. Worked for me at least

1) Remove talents and such that do reflective damage (brambles and such)
2) Remove trash.
3) Engage boss, don't damage.
4) Wait for colored oozes to spawn from the colored markers on the outer ring (which match the colors announced and the oozes that spawn). 3 will spawn. Kill the one you don't need for the combination you want.
5) Wait for the 2 remaining oozes to merge in boss. Don't bother to kill them if the combo is the wrong combination. After killing 1, the other 2 will be immune.
6) Sit out the period.
7) Kill other things that spawn with single target ability.
8) Repeat step 4 and on wards until you have all color combinations (achie does NOT show your progress, until you're done!)
When you're sure you've got the combo's, kill boss.

If he goes berserk and you can't take the damage, reset it if you can (shadowmeld, vanish, etc), or kill boss. The combo's you had so far will then show in achies.

1) Aggroed the boss with the dalaran Toy gun.
2) Then afk'ed and healed up when necessary.
3) After the boss had experienced every kind of color variation I killed him and achivement was completed. So basically just AFK and check what color combinations he gets and if they correspond to the color combos the "Achivement" require; then finish him off when you think it's enough waiting.

Just as an FYI since I didn't see this mentioned and was doing this one Heroic 25-man:

You can only kill one of the four blobs. Just make sure 2 of the 3 blobs match the color combination. You will have to keep track and if you are like me and didn't remember the first few combinations don't sweat the berserk timer.

I am pretty sure I went 3-4 waves into his berserk just to be absolutely sure and still managed to get it. He couldn't actually hit me even after berserk (350ilvl Prot Paladin).

Because of the many varying (and seemingly mutually exclusive) comments here, I wasn't clear as to how this would work re achievement tracking.

Note: Because the achievement requires that you experience the color combination AND kill him, you do not credit for any combinations until he is dead. So if you are like me, and have the achievement tracker up, nothing is going to happen during your attempt. If you do not get all four color combos in a single fight, you will see credit for the ones you have completed in previous fights.

I put all that together (after the initial five I spent reading some of the highest rated posts) after spending 15 minutes reading various comments during this fight. (Well I wasn't gonna die at this point on a Level 60 Shadowlands, was I?) The entire time, I was wondering what I was doing wrong, cause none of the combinations were being credited and I KNEW I had completed three of them. I'm a little slow sometimes, so it took me a while to put together the various comments about how to get this with the ones saying things like "keep track of them yourself." When I saw one that said, "The achievement tracker is broken," I decided to just forget about it and kill the guy. I was quite done with hearing his various very repetitive monolog. I mean Blizzard couldn't hire enough writers to come up with more than 2 sentences?

Sure enough, after he was dead, all four of the tracking achievements were instantly credited and I got the full achievement in one kill.

I am going to hear whispers of "SEE how we pour from the CURSED EARTH!" and "The DARKNESS devours ALL!" in my sleep.

Oh, and yeah, the writers did come up with a third one, for when he died. I will not spoil that one for you. Enjoy your achievement.

PS: As a balance druid, I used Solar Beam. Got his attention and did no damage.

The addon Instance Achievement Tracker will track the color combos for you. You can download it from CurseForge. I just did this on heroic and it took less than 4 minutes.
